Vimshottari dasha is the classical timing clock of Jyotish. It sequences life themes through planetary periods. It is not a countdown to doom. It is a map of which planet is speaking more loudly in a season.
Mahadasha and antardasha
Mahadasha is the longer chapter. Antardasha is the sub-chapter inside it. Together they color career pressure, relationship focus, study, or rest. Two people with the same planet in the sky can live very different seasons because their dasha clocks differ.
How to use dasha without fear
Ask: What theme is active? Where does this planet sit in my chart? What habits would support this season? Avoid asking only: When will everything break? Free charts show the sequence. Judgment still needs a reader when the decision is high stakes.
